The Need for an Upgrade
Having recognised the limitations of their existing AGM battery our clients sought a more efficient and powerful solution. By upgrading to a caravan lithium battery, they aimed to enhance their off-grid experience and enjoy the comforts of home while on the road. This upgrade will provide them with the ability to power 240-volt household appliances and run the air-conditioner, making their adventures even more enjoyable.
Installing Additional Solar Panels
To complement the new lithium battery set-up, we installed additional solar panels on the caravan roof. This will ensure a rapid supply of solar to recharge the batteries, even during winter camping when sunlight may be limited. The installation of external Anderson plugs also allowed for the connection of portable solar panels, providing flexibility and backup power options when needed.
Replacing Chargers with Lithium-Compatible Components
To bring the caravan power system up to date and ensure compatibility with the new lithium battery, we replaced all existing AGM battery chargers and solar chargers with lithium-compatible components. This step was crucial to optimise the charging process and maximise the performance and lifespan of the lithium battery. The new chargers will efficiently manage the power flow, ensuring a safe and reliable power supply to the caravan.

Enhanced Power Capacity
The upgrade to a caravan lithium battery set-up significantly increased the power capacity of the system. Lithium batteries offer a higher energy density compared to AGM batteries, allowing for more power storage in a smaller and lighter package.
